About
Hi, my name is Jessica Rettig and I’m the face behind Southern Equine. My goal is to improve the lives of horses through holistic, tailored body work sessions. I hold a bachelor of Science with a major in Zoology and a Diploma of Equine Myofunctional Therapy. My past studies have provided me the formal training to help equines however, it is my life long love and passion for horses that cannot be obtained in a classroom.
My journey into equine wellness began with my first pony at age 9 and has continued grow since then. It was my late thoroughbred mare, Daisy who had a number of troubles that solidified my dedication to the wellbeing of the horse. Here’s to Daisy.
Nearly 20 years later I have expanded my skillset and knowledge through obtaining a bodywork qualification and a bachelors degree in Zoology on top of much hands on experience. I am a fully insured and practicing member of the EQUINE THERAPIES ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA and the INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR COMPLIMENTARY THERAPISTS.
Equine massage is just the tip of iceberg on my journey into holitsic equine health. I currently hold qualifications in Equine nutrition obtained through Dr Eleanor Kellon. and offer nutritional consultations. I’ve experienced first hand how paramount a holistic approach is to treating ailments of the mind and body.
Please be in contact if you have any questions! I look very forward to meeting you and your equines.
I’m located in the South of Tasmania and I currently service the Huon valley and greater Hobart areas.
Jess.
